SURLY Brewing Co. makes great Minnesota beer. “Great beer is all that really matters. Well, that and pushing your limits a bit, looking out for your people, taking pride in where you’re from, and having as much damn fun as you can while doing it.” -SURLY

Part of that fun is the Ultimate Frisbee team they sponsor! And they’re as good as SURLY’s beer.

PROBLEM

SURLY won the 2019 Grand Masters Championship! In addition to the title and bragging rights, Discraft prints custom discs for the winners. The Surly team sent images of elements to incorporate in a successful design. The players liked the idea of pouring beer into the GM trophy, a waterfall emptying into the trophy, and stars to represent different titles won by the team. All using just two colors, neither of which could touch.

SOLUTION

Keeping true to SURLY’s bold and stylized graphic style this design features a hard victorious pour. The four large stars represent SURLY’s four Grand Masters Championships alongside fourteen smaller stars to represent the total SURLY championships in all of the Masters Divisions.
